NEEDS STATEMENT <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton seeks a consultant to validate and review parts of <br />their police officer selection process. Specifically, the City desires to <br />conduct a two-part project: <br /> <br />Phase I <br /> <br />-- Conduct and develop a job analysis that addresses federal guidelines and <br /> includes information needed to evaluate the appropriateness of the <br /> medical testing currently performed as a part of the selection <br /> procedure. <br /> <br />-- Develop a job-related oral interview. <br /> <br />Phase II ~ <br /> <br />-- Examine the following entry-level selection process for consistency with <br /> applicable equal employment laws and regulations both in terms of <br /> content and usage. Recommend corrective action needed, where <br /> appropriate. <br /> <br /> - Background <br /> - Medical <br /> - Psychological <br /> - Physical Agility <br /> - Polygraph <br /> - Department Head Interview <br /> <br /> STRENGTHS OF BIDDLE & ASSOCIATES <br /> <br />1. Biddle & ~Associates is a private consulting firm which has <br /> specialized in equal employment and affirmative action for over 13 <br /> years. The work products Biddle & Associates will develop will <br /> address relevant case law, the requirements of Title VII of the <br /> Civil Rights Act of 1964 (as amended), the Uniform Guidelines on <br /> Employee Selection Procedures (1978), and the American <br /> Psychological Associations' Principles for the Validation and Use <br /> of Personnel Selection Procedures. While no single firm, no one <br /> attorney, nor even any single judge can guarantee compliance or <br /> guarantee validation, Biddle & Associates, Inc. has a successful <br /> track record (see Attachment #1 for Success Stories in Court). <br /> <br /> <br />
