May 25, 1988 Mr. John Steinbuch CPS Commercial Real Estate Suite 120 4900 Hopyard Rd. ~ Pleasanton, California 94566 Dear John: The subcommittee for Staffing and Accountability of the Advantage Pleasanton Committee recommends that we should seek out a qualified person to be responsible for the economic development activities related to the City of Pleasanton. This person will occupy a full time position within the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. The position will report to and be responsible to the executive manager of the Chamber. The position will have clerical support from the Chamber staff. It is our suggestion that a separate committee be created who's responsibility will be to assist in the development and formation of this new department. As stated above, the position will be responsible to the chamber manager with the committee providing input and guidance. The possible make up of the committee would be the chair of the Economic Development Committee, two representatives of the Development Community, two representatives of the Commercial Brokerage Community and the Chamber Manager. The general responsibilities of the position could be as follows: 1. Develop and administer Economic Development Plan. 2. Gather, assemble and distribute all appropriate information regarding the commercial development activity in Pleasanton. a) This information to be available to Brokers, Users and other interested parties. 3. Position will be available to meet with potential Users to provide overall information about Pleasanton and its commercial development. a) Meeting will be supported by material information, films, tours and coordination of community leaders to meet with prospective Rsers. 4. Position will work in support with commercial brokers in promoting Pleasanton. A consistent factor in the above described respgnsibilities
