11.6 Vacation Pay at Termination <br /> <br /> Any employee with one (1) or more years of service with the City <br /> shall be paid for all accrued vacation leave earned prior to the <br /> effective date of termination. Such compensation for earned <br /> vacation shall be paid to the employee in one lump sum in a final <br /> check. <br /> <br />Section 12 Sick Leave <br /> <br />12.1 Sick Leave Accrual <br /> <br /> During his/her one year probationary period each new full time <br /> employee shall earn sick leave at a rate of eight (8.0) hours for <br /> each month of service. Upon successfully completing his/her one <br /> year probationary period each new employee shall receive three- <br /> hundred eighty-four (384.0) hours sick leave credit in addition <br /> to that earned during probation. Upon completion of five (5) <br /> years service, every employee shall thereafter accumulate sick <br /> leave at a rate of eight (8.0) hours per month. No employee <br /> shall accumulate more than one-thousand four-hundred forty <br /> (1,440.0) hours sick leave. An employee may be allowed a sick <br /> leave deficit of twenty-four (24) hours beyond that actually <br /> earned. Employees on leave of absence with pay in lieu of tempo- <br /> rary disability payments pursuant to Section 4850 of the Labor <br /> Code shall accumulate sick leave during said leave of absence, in <br /> accordance with the provisions of this section. <br /> <br />12.2 Sick Leave Accrual Reqular Part-time Employee <br /> <br /> Regular part-time employees provided that they average between <br /> twenty (20) and twenty-nine (29) hours per week, shall accrue <br /> four (4) hours of sick leave per month to a maximum accrual of <br /> seven hundred and twenty (720) hours. <br /> <br /> Regular part-time employee provided that they average between <br /> thirty (30) through thirty-nine (39) hours per week, shall accrue <br /> six (6) hours of sick leave per month to a maximum accrual of <br /> one-thousand and eighty (1,080.0) hours. <br /> <br />12.3 Sick Leave Usaqe <br /> <br /> Sick leave with pay shall be granted to all probationary, regular <br /> part-time, and permanent full time employees within the competi- <br /> tive service. Sick leave shall not be considered a right which <br /> an employee may use at his discretion but shall be allowed only <br /> as follows: <br /> <br /> - 22 - <br /> <br /> <br />
