5 <br />THE CITY OF <br />-- ~M,i u -,- ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />~L£~S~4NTONo <br />September 4, 2007 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVE FORMATION OF A BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE TO OVERSEE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON'S PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE MASTER PLAN <br />SUMMARY <br />The City of Pleasanton has been awarded a grant of $111,000.00 for preparation of a <br />Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan. This grant money is provided by the Alameda <br />County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA) through the Measure B <br />Bicycle/Pedestrian Countywide Discretionary Program. The grant funding requires that <br />a Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) be established by the City of <br />Pleasanton to oversee the development of the Master Plan. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve plans for formation of a Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee to consist <br />of the following members: <br />A representative from the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />A representative from the Trails Ad Hoc Committee <br />A representative from the Planning Commission <br />Two at-large representatives <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There will be some staff time expended, about 10 hours per week, to attend meetings <br />and provide coordination. <br />
