Safety Division approved all applicable requirements relating to green building
measures. Said verification shall be provided prior to occupancy.

22. The applicant shall implement the following measures with the construction of the
structure covered by this approval so that a roof-mounted photovoltaic system
can be installed in the future:

a. Install electrical conduit and pull string from the roof/attic areas to the
building’s main electrical panels;

b. Engineer the roof trusses to handle an additional load as determined by a
structural engineer to accommodate the additional weight of a prototypical
photovoltaic system beyond that anticipated for roofing; and

c. Provide an area near the electrical panel for the “inverter” required to convert
the direct current output from the photovoltaic panels to alternating current.

These measures shall be indicated on the building permit plan sets.

BUILDING AND SAFETY DIVISION

23. Obtain a building permit from the Building and Safety Division and any other
applicable City permits for the project prior to the commencement of any
construction.

24. The project developer shall effectively screen from view all ducts, meters, air
conditioning equipment, and any other mechanical equipment, whether on the
structure, on the ground, or on the roof, with materials architecturally compatible
with the main structure. Screening details shall be shown on the plans submitted
for issuance of building permits, the adequacy of which shall be determined by
the Planning Director. All required screening shall be provided prior to
occupancy.

25. All mechanical equipment shall be constructed and operated in such a manner
that noise emanating from it will not be perceptible beyond the property plane.

26. The location of any pad-mounted transformers and/or building electrical service
panel shall be subject to approval by the Planning Director prior to issuance of
permits by the Building and Safety Division. Such transformers and/or building
electrical service panel shall be screened by landscaping or contained within an
enclosure matching the building and with corrugated metal gates. All
transformers and/or building electrical service panel shall be shown on the plans
submitted for issuance of building permits. The project developer shall attempt to
locate transformers and/or building electrical service panel at the rear of the site.

5
