19.7 Effective Date of Educational Incentive Pay <br /> <br /> This Educational Incentive Pay Plan shall be effective <br /> July 1, 1977. <br /> <br />19.8 Tuition Reimbursement <br /> <br /> A. Only employees enrolled in the Educational Incentive <br /> Plan shall be eligible for tuition reimbursement. <br /> <br /> B. Tuition shall be reimbursed in the amount and at the <br /> rate for internal degrees levied by Hayward State <br /> University at the time of the employee's enrollment <br /> in the courses for which tuition reimbursement is <br /> requested. However, effective July 1, 1988 the <br /> maximum amount of tuition reimbursement shall not <br /> exceed $837.00 per fiscal year per employee. <br /> <br /> C. Tuition reimbursement shall not be received for any <br /> individual courses (or class) not successfully <br /> completed with a grade of "C" or better. <br /> <br /> D. Employees submitting requests for tuition <br /> reimbursement shall provide the Personnel Officer an <br /> official receipt from the college or university <br /> verifying the payment of tuition and an official <br /> transcript of the grades received for which tuition <br /> is requested. <br /> <br />19.9 Book Reimbursement <br /> <br /> Employees enrolled in the Educational Incentive Plan <br /> shall be eligible for the reimbursement of the books <br /> required for those classes taken as part of their <br /> approved educational program. The amount reimbursed <br /> shall be the purchase price of the books less the monies <br /> received from their resale. No reimbursement for books <br /> shall be received for any class not successfully <br /> completed with a grade of "C" or better. <br /> <br /> Employees submitting requests for reimbursement for books <br /> shall submit to the Personnel Officer the original <br /> purchase receipt in addition to the receipt showing the <br /> monies received through resale of said books. <br /> <br /> If, however, the books are determined by the Personnel <br /> Officer to be an asset to the City, the Personnel Officer <br /> may elect at his/her discretion to reimburse the employee <br /> the full cost of said books, the latter becoming the <br /> possession of the City. The Personnel Officer's decision <br /> regarding the purchase of textbooks shall be final. <br /> <br /> - 27 - <br /> <br /> <br />
