WORK IN ADDITION TO PLAN REVIEW <br />1. Code Enforcement. When requested and under the direction of the Chief Building and <br />Safety Official, CONTRACTOR shall enforce the City Codes by inspection and when required <br />investigation of complaints regarding sub-standard building conditions and when necessary, <br />prepare cases for citation hearings, criminal proceedings in municipal court, and/or civil <br />abatement proceedings. Fees for such services shall be paid on a time and material basis at the <br />hourly rate as assigned for normal plan review work. <br />2. Emer~ency Preparedness. Under the direction of the Building and Safety Official or other <br />authorized representative of the CITY, the CONSULTANT will assist the City of Pleasanton in <br />emergency preparedness, building damage assessment and emergency response. <br />3. Emergency Operations Assistance. CONSULTANT will maintain current skills in <br />emergency response. CONSULTANT hereby agrees to the following terms and conditions in <br />the event of a local or regional emergency: <br />A. Report into the City of Pleasanton Emergency Operation Center (EOC). Contract personnel will <br />make a reasonable effort to report to the Chief Building and Safety Official (cell phone #925- <br />437-4022) or the City of Pleasanton EOC as soon as possible following a local or regional <br />emergency. <br />B. The CONSULTANT shall provide contract personnel and CONSULTANT resources available <br />for emergency response at the same hourly rates and conditions specified in this Agreement. <br />C. The CONSULTANT acknowledges that emergency response work may require variations in <br />work hours and assignments. <br />4. Other Duties. CONSULTANT shall perform other related activities and duties as requested <br />by the CITY. Fees for such services shall be paid on a time and material basis at the hourly rate <br />as assigned for normal plan review work. <br />5. Consultant Cost Estimates. On an annual basis and in conjunction with the City Budget <br />process, CONSULTANT shall submit a summary of monthly and annualized billing throughout <br />the preceeding year. The CONSULTANT may also be asked to provide an estimate of <br />anticipated annualized future billing for services under this Agreement. Given the inability to <br />precisely predict building activity, these projections are for planning purposes only and there <br />shall not be a guaranteed number of hours of service under this Agreement. <br />FACILITIES FOR RECORDS: When the CONSULTANT is directed to perform plan review <br />services at City offices, the CITY shall provide office space for conducting the duties set forth in <br />this Agreement, and shall provide necessary furnishings, telephone, permit forms, computers and <br />codes. Within this office space, CONSULTNAT shall assemble such records customarily <br />maintained by the City Building and Safety Division, as directed by the Chief Building and <br />Safety Official. Such records shall, at all times, be the property of the CITY. <br />
