Proposed Park Renovation Fund Projects <br />FY 2007/08 <br />$90,000 Street Median Plant Replacements <br />This project is a continuation of Park Renovation Project #057019, which <br />provides funds for the replacement of small blocks of dead or dying plant material <br />in the City's street median areas. <br />$400,000 Street Median Renovation -Large Projects <br />This project would provide initial funds to begin the systematic renovation and re- <br />landscaping of street median and right-away areas located throughout the City. <br />The initial project (currently in design) would provide for the re-landscaping of <br />approximately 10 of the 20 center medians located on West Las Positas Blvd., <br />from Santa Rita Road east to Boardwalk Street. These medians were originally <br />constructed in the early 1970's, with most of the planting and irrigation <br />components still in use and in need of wholesale replacement. <br />$15,000 Renovation of Brick Barbecue at Amador Recreation Center <br />This project would provide funding to demolish the existing large brick barbecue <br />located to the west of the Amador Recreation Center, and replace it with a new <br />block structure unit. <br />$10,000 Replacement of Wood Fence at Fire Station #3 <br />This project would provide funds for repairs to the wood fencing located at Fire <br />Station #3 (Santa Rita Road at West Las Positas Blvd.). <br />$25,000 Replacement of Gazebo at Mission Hills Park <br />This project would provide funds for the replacement of the wood gazebo <br />located in Mission Hills Park. <br />$27,000 Playground Surfacing -Wood Chip Mulch <br />This project is a continuation of Park Renovation Project #047031, which <br />provides funds for additional playground wood chip surfacing, as needed, to the <br />52 playgrounds located throughout the park system. To comply with Handbook <br />for National Playground Safety Standards, adequate mulch depth is required at all <br />times to provide cushioning for falls. <br />$40,000 Design Work for Upcoming Playground Replacements <br />Funds would be expended for the design of upcoming playground replacements at <br />four (4) park sites, Valley Trails, Meadowlark, Amaral, and Tennis and <br />Community parks. <br />$607,000 Total <br />
