Prepare plans, drawings, and other material for use in completing easement and/or right-of-way requirements for relocation of utilities. The work included in this task is not part of the work covered in the fixed price portion of this AMENDMENT; method of payment shall be as established in this AMENDMENT. TASK 2-2: FINAL DESIGN The purpose of this task is to perform the detailed design of the project and produce the construction drawings, spe- cial provisions, and construction estimate in Caltrans for- mat required for the contract documents. The contract docu- ments will cover the work necessary to bid and construct the bridges, ramps, freeway auxiliary lanes, and roadway sec- tions included in the project. Final design will be based on the GAD, Hydraulics Report, Materials Report, and Bridge Type Selection Study prepared under Amendment 1. Final design of the project shall be divided into two dis- tinct phases: Phase 1: Rough grading and drainage. Phase 2: Fine grading and all remaining work. A separate contract document suitable for bidding shall be produced for each phase. The phases shall be developed and coordinated with CITY staff to optimize use of borrow exca- vation furnished from outside sources as well as future CITY plans for adjacent facilities. It is further understood that this SCOPE OF SERVICES and fixed price includes the design and coordination work for the addition of the auxiliary lanes on 1-580 described in the BACKGROUND section of this SCOPE OF SERVICES and does not include any work or costs associated with providing additional lanes beyond those noted. It is also understood that auxiliary lane widening will be contained within the existing right-of-way using fill slopes and/or standard Caltrans retaining walls. The CONSULTANT shall advance the design of the Ultimate In- terchange as defined by the GAD to approximately the 30 per- cent complete level prior to commencing development of the final design of the Interim Interchange. The Interim Inter- change configuration will not preclude the future development of the Ultimate Interchange geometrics. - 5 -
