Write, edit, and compile special provisions to supple- ment the bidding requirements and technical specifica- tions. Task 5--Encroachment Permit Prepare a Caltrans Encroachment Permit Application to obtain approval to construct the items included in the bidding doc- ument prepared in Task 4-5. Submit the permit application along with a complete contract document to Caltrans and the CITY for review, comment, and approval. Meet with the CITY and Caltrans to clarify the intent of construction and gen- eral coordination. Make revisions to the contract documents and permit application needed to obtain approval and granting of the permit. Task 6--Ramp Metering Design Directive Make necessary revisions and/or additions to the design, plans, and specifications to incorporate the requirements of the new Ramp Metering Design Directive issued by Caltrans. Review new Caltrans guidelines for metered ramps and inves- tigate incorporation of design elements into existing geome- try of all on-ramps. Revise on-ramps to include necessary metering features including ramp widening for enforcement area, detector loops on ramps and mainline, controller foun- dation, and connecting conduit and conductors. Prepare plans and details of the components and coordinate with the neces- sary specifications and special provisions. Revise completed surface drainage components and edge drains to fit the new ramp metering elements. Meet with Caltrans staff for review and coordination of the design. Task 7--Illumination Task 7-1: Stoneridge Drive--Investigate and analyze existing lighting on Stoneridge Drive combined with Caltrans standard safety lighting located at crossroad ramp terminal intersections. Prepare alternative anal- yses and cost estimates for review by the CITY, Caltrans and PG&E. Review analysis and modify lighting on Stoneridge Drive from Johnson Drive to Stoneridge Mall Road to produce a level of lighting equal to IES stan- dards or other criteria as directed by CITY staff. Prepare plans and special provisions for installation of the additional electroliers, conduit, conductors, and control elements. Meet with CITY, Caltrans, and PG&E representatives for review and coordination of the lighting.
