Box 520 Pleasanton, California 94566-0802 Attention: Mr. Joseph Elliott Director of Public Works and Utilities Subject: Scope of Services and Fee Agreement Soil Engineering Services During Construction Cross-Town Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Pleasanton, California Gentlemen: INTRODUCTION We are pleased to present this scope of services and fee agreement for soil engineering services during construction of the proposed Cross-Town Sanitary Sewer Interceptor project. We understand that we will be supporting the City Inspection staff and reporting to them during the construction phase. We also understand that the City may require engineering consultation during the project. We previously performed a Geotechnical Investigation of the site and presented the results in a report dated May 6, 1988, and therefore have the background to provide timely and practical consultation. Paul Weidig will provide consultation services and David Borchert will provide project supervision. We understand the project will consist of approximately 17,600 linear feet of pipeline with associated improvements. The project plans and specifications prepared by Brown and Caldwell dated March, 1989 will provide guidelines for the work. SCOPE oF SERVICES We recommend that our scope of services for this project consist of the following items: 1. As requested by the City, provide engineering and construction method consultation during the construction operations. 2. On a part-time basis, observe the placement and perform density tests on the compaction of materials during the backfilling of utility trenches.
