Caltrans for review, and following comments corrected; the <br />plans and specification will then be separated into two sep- <br />arate contract documents: <br /> <br />1. Negotiated Contract--All of the work within the mainline <br /> right-of-way of 1-680 that connects the ramps and aux- <br /> iliary lanes to the mainline will be separated and com- <br /> piled into one contract document for use by the CITY to <br /> negotiate a construction contract. <br /> <br /> The work shall include grading, drainage, and paving to <br /> the final lines and grades of the complete facility. <br /> <br />2. Advertised Contract--All of the remaining work outside <br /> of the mainline right-of-way on each side of 1-680 shall <br /> be separated and compiled into one contract document <br /> for use by the CITY to advertise and accept bids for a <br /> construction contract. <br /> <br /> This work shall include grading drainage, paving, and <br /> bridge construction to the final lines and grades of <br /> the complete facility. <br /> <br />For each contract the CONSULTANT shall develop a complete <br />contract document and process each one through the estab- <br />lished Caltrans' review, comment, discussion, resolution <br />modification and confirmation, and final sign-off. <br /> <br />For the "Negotiated Contract" the CONSULTANT will assist the <br />CITY in its negotiations with the contractor by providing <br />clarifications of the plans, technical specifications, and <br />legal sections of the contract document; the CONSULTANT will <br />also revise the contract documents to conform to the results <br />of the negotiations and finalize the documents for <br />signature. <br /> <br />For the "Advertised Contract" the CONSULTANT will review the <br />plans to conform to the termination points of the"Nego- <br />tiated Contract" and produce a coordinated final design <br />product of a complete functional interchange meeting the <br />operational requirements of Caltrans and the CITY. <br /> <br />Task 2--Future Irrigation Waterline Casing <br /> <br />The CONSULTANT shall investigate the feasibility of revising <br />the design of the bridge widening of the Stoneridge Drive <br />Overcrossing to include a 10-inch diameter welded steel cas- <br />ing for future installation of a "graywater" irrigation pipe- <br />line by others. <br /> <br />Design calculations shall be developed to confirm the fea- <br />sibility and the plans and specifications shall be modified <br />to include the casing. <br /> <br /> <br />
