Caltrans for review, and following comments corrected; the plans and specification will then be separated into two sep- arate contract documents: 1. Negotiated Contract--All of the work within the mainline right-of-way of 1-680 that connects the ramps and aux- iliary lanes to the mainline will be separated and com- piled into one contract document for use by the CITY to negotiate a construction contract. The work shall include grading, drainage, and paving to the final lines and grades of the complete facility. 2. Advertised Contract--All of the remaining work outside of the mainline right-of-way on each side of 1-680 shall be separated and compiled into one contract document for use by the CITY to advertise and accept bids for a construction contract. This work shall include grading drainage, paving, and bridge construction to the final lines and grades of the complete facility. For each contract the CONSULTANT shall develop a complete contract document and process each one through the estab- lished Caltrans' review, comment, discussion, resolution modification and confirmation, and final sign-off. For the "Negotiated Contract" the CONSULTANT will assist the CITY in its negotiations with the contractor by providing clarifications of the plans, technical specifications, and legal sections of the contract document; the CONSULTANT will also revise the contract documents to conform to the results of the negotiations and finalize the documents for signature. For the "Advertised Contract" the CONSULTANT will review the plans to conform to the termination points of the"Nego- tiated Contract" and produce a coordinated final design product of a complete functional interchange meeting the operational requirements of Caltrans and the CITY. Task 2--Future Irrigation Waterline Casing The CONSULTANT shall investigate the feasibility of revising the design of the bridge widening of the Stoneridge Drive Overcrossing to include a 10-inch diameter welded steel cas- ing for future installation of a "graywater" irrigation pipe- line by others. Design calculations shall be developed to confirm the fea- sibility and the plans and specifications shall be modified to include the casing.
