CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 89-118 A RESOLUTION SUBMITTING TO THE VOTERS OF PLEASANTON APPROVAL OF THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR DOWNTOWN PT~ASANTON WHEREAS, pursuant to California Elections Code §4017, the City Council may submit to the voters a proposition for the enactment of an ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an Ordinance approving a Redevelopment Plan for Downtown Pleasanton, provided, however, that said Ordinance must be approved by a majority of voters of the City of Pleasanton or else the Ordinance shall be automatically repealed. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Call for Special Election. Pursuant to Elections Code §4017, the City Council hereby establishes June 6, 1989, as the date for an election at which the voters of Pleasanton shall decide whether or not to approve the Ordinance establishing a Redevelopment Plan for Downtown Pleasanton, a copy of which Ordinance and Plan are attached to this resolution. The Measure shall be designated by letter by the County of Alameda. Section 2. Ballot Language. The ballot language shall be as follows: "Shall the Ordinance adopting a Redevelopment Plan for Downtown Pleasanton be approved?" Yes No Section 3: Publishing Notice of Deadline for Ballot Arguments, Submission of Ballot Arguments and Impartial Analysis. a. By March 17, 1989, the City Clerk shall publish or post a notice regarding the deadlines for submittal of ballot arguments concerning the ordinance. b. The last day for submission of direct arguments for or against the proposed ordinance shall be March 24, 1989.
