CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-118 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION SUBMITTING TO THE VOTERS OF <br /> PLEASANTON APPROVAL OF THE REDEVELOPMENT <br /> PLAN FOR DOWNTOWN PT~ASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to California Elections Code §4017, the <br /> City Council may submit to the voters a proposition <br /> for the enactment of an ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an Ordinance approving <br /> a Redevelopment Plan for Downtown Pleasanton, <br /> provided, however, that said Ordinance must be <br /> approved by a majority of voters of the City of <br /> Pleasanton or else the Ordinance shall be <br /> automatically repealed. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Call for Special Election. Pursuant to Elections <br /> Code §4017, the City Council hereby establishes <br /> June 6, 1989, as the date for an election at which <br /> the voters of Pleasanton shall decide whether or <br /> not to approve the Ordinance establishing a <br /> Redevelopment Plan for Downtown Pleasanton, a copy <br /> of which Ordinance and Plan are attached to this <br /> resolution. The Measure shall be designated by <br /> letter by the County of Alameda. <br /> <br />Section 2. Ballot Language. The ballot language shall be as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> "Shall the Ordinance adopting a Redevelopment Plan <br /> for Downtown Pleasanton be approved?" <br /> <br /> Yes No <br /> <br />Section 3: Publishing Notice of Deadline for Ballot <br /> Arguments, Submission of Ballot Arguments and <br /> Impartial Analysis. <br /> <br /> a. By March 17, 1989, the City Clerk shall <br /> publish or post a notice regarding the <br /> deadlines for submittal of ballot arguments <br /> concerning the ordinance. <br /> <br /> b. The last day for submission of direct <br /> arguments for or against the proposed <br /> ordinance shall be March 24, 1989. <br /> <br /> <br />
