DRAFT
Page 2-37
Commissioner Pearce:
• Delete the word "consideration of ' on line 2 of Policy 25 to read: "...make
r~:a°r~*~°~ °~°nergy use and environment important considerations."
Commissioner Pearce would like to strengthen Program 25.1 by deleting "Study" and
going directly to establishing the advisory commission. Commissioner Narum indicated
that she would not like to establish another stopping point in the City's effort to
streamline the development process. Commissioner Blank concurred with Commissioner
Narum but noted that the program does not state that the application would need to go
through another commission for approval.
Ms. Stern indicated that this is taken from the Council priorities and is not intended to
add another step in the development process.
• Modify Program 25.1 as follows: Establish an
advisory commission to the City Council... and to review the energy and
environmental issues relevant to development proposals generally."
ChairLerson Fox:
• Modify Program 26.1 to read: "...City plans and programs such as the future
Specific Plans for East Pleasanton and Hacienda Business Park."
Commissioner Blank:
• Capitalize the word "Internet" in Program 26.2.
Pale 2-38
No changes.
Land Use Map
Ms. Stern noted the change made to the revised Map which now shows the vacant parcel
on the Busch Property as Medium Density Residential. This was based on a conversation
with the School District which confirmed that it will not be acquiring this site for a
school. Ms. Stern then identified the different designations based on the colors and
designs on the legend.
Units and Housing Caps
Chairperson Fox noted that in the 1996 Dwelling Unit voter-approved 29,000 housing
cap, there was no definition of the term "dwelling unit." She asked Commissioner Blank
to repeat his recommendation regarding what should and should not be counted towards
the housing cap.
DRAFT EXCERPTS: PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES July 11, 2007Page 21 of 24
