DRAFT
2002 and others say 2003. Ms. Stern noted that the Plan is new and was not revised. She
added that staff would
• Review the text for consistency regarding the date the Plan was adopted.
Page 2-8
Commissioner Blank
• Add the following to the Staples Ranch and East Pleasanton paragraphs: "This
property is subject to noise generated by the Livermore Airport which operates jet
aircraft on a 24-hour-a- day basis."
Chairperson Fox proposed that instead of striking the entire "Busch Property" section,
state that the 22-acre school site has been re-purposed and is currently vacant but the rest
of the property includes Public and Institutional, Housing, Senior Living, etc. Ms. Stern
stated that it cannot be referred to as a school site because it is no longer such.
• Add a sentence that a school site was previously a part of the project.
Page 2-9
Chairperson Fox inquired if the phrase "Industry has now depleted and reclaimed these
resources" in the first sentence of first full paragraph means that harvesting has ceased.
• Modify the first sentence to read: "The resources have now been depleted and the
land has been reclaimed on large parcels in the Busch Road and El Charro Road
area."
Page 2-10
No changes.
Pa e~ 2-11
Chairperson Fox requested that the following text be added under Existing Specific
Plans: "8. East Pleasanton Specific Plan. Feb 3, 1998, the City Council initiated the
East Pleasanton Specific Plan (EPSP). On April 20, 1999, the EPSP team was disbanded,
and the planning process was deferred until the completion of the Bernal Property
Specific Plan tasks." Commissioner Pearce stated that she did not think it was not
appropriate to put this under Existing Specific Plans and that it could be placed under
East Pleasanton Specific Plan on page 2-12 as a note that it was deferred after the Bernal
Property tasks were completed.
Chairperson Fox inquired if it should be mentioned under the Vineyard Avenue Corridor
Specific Plan that the elementary school has not yet been built. Ms. Stern noted that it is
mentioned that the Plan allows a mix that includes an elementary school.
Commissioner Fox
• Check for consistency in the use of "Phase T' versus "Phase 1."
DRAFT EXCERPTS: PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES July 11, 2007Page 11 of 24
