Draft 2.0 Land Use Element <br />Program 25.1: Establish an advisory commission to the City Council to <br />provide recommendations and policy implementation <br />regarding energy and environmental projects and priorities, <br />and to review the energy and environmental issues relevant to <br />development proposals generally. <br />Citizen Participation <br />Goal 4: Encourage the participation of residents, businesses, and neighboring <br />jurisdictions in planning for community development. <br />Policy 26: Encourage the participation and collaboration of Pleasanton residents and <br />businesses in land-use planning and decision making. <br />Program 26.1: Involve citizen committees in the formulation of City plans <br />and programs such as the future specific plans for East <br />Pleasanton and the Hacienda Business Park. <br />Program 26.2: Disseminate information regarding City policies and services to <br />Pleasanton residents and businesses through the use of <br />newsletters, information brochures, the Internet, televised <br />public meetings, and cooperation with the media. <br />Program 26.3. Provide advance information about upcoming changes, <br />projects, and issues, and encourage the collaborative exchange <br />of ideas between project sponsors, residents, and the business <br />community. <br />Policy 27: Review and update the Pleasanton General Plan as conditions change. <br />Program 27.1: Conduct a review of General Plan elements, policies, and land <br />uses by public officials and citizens, including all economic <br />segments of the community, every five to eight years. <br />Program 27.2: Prepare an annual review of the General Plan status as <br />required by State law. <br />LU element 082107 clean 2-35 <br />
