Draft 2.0 Land Use Element <br />Program 16.1: The base density for agricultural areas in the Ridgelands is 100 <br />acres per building site. New homes may be located only on a <br />legal building site, must not interfere with agricultural use in <br />the area, and must not interfere with documented public <br />agenry plans to connect or create trails and open space areas. <br />Measurr F may not be amended as to land-use designations nor <br />repealed except by a vote of the citizens of Pleasanton. <br />Polity 17: Preserve scenic hillside and ridge views of the Pleasanton }Zidgeland and the <br />Southeast Hills. <br />Program 17.1: Continue to implement the land-use and development <br />standards of the Pleasanton Ridgelands Initiative of <br />1993 (Measure F). <br />Program 17.2: Study the feasibility of preserving large open-space acreage in <br />the Southeast Hills by a combination of private open space <br />and a public park system. <br />Growth Management <br />Goal 2: Develop in an efficient, logical, and orderly fashion. <br />Policy 18: Maintain a permanent Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) beyond which urban <br />development shall not be permitted. <br />Program 18.1: Permit only non-urban uses beyond the Urban Growth <br />Boundary. <br />Program 18.2: Extend urban services only to areas within the Urban Growth <br />Boundary, with the following possible exceptions for selected <br />urban services: (1) areas beyond the boundary where the <br />public health and safety present overriding considerations; <br />(2) as to water service, areas which are within the boundaries <br />of the former Pleasanton County Township Water District and <br />where the service extension is consistent with the 1967 Joint <br />Powers Agreement between the City and the District; (3) on <br />reclaimed land which is currently designated as Sand and <br />Gravel Harvesting in East Pleasanton when the potential <br />future use is non-urban. <br />LU element 082107 clean 2-31 <br />
