Memorandum of Understanding <br />Tri-Valley Transportation Planning Program <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and covenants <br />contained in this Agreement, and of the mutual advantages to be obtained from the <br />implementation of such promises, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. The Tri-Valley Transportation Council will jointly review and provide comments <br /> and suggestions on any member jurisdiction's proposed General or Specific Plans <br /> or Amendments, when such proposed Amendments involve regional or <br /> subregional transportation issues. This paragraph shall not be construed to <br /> prevent any individual member jurisdiction from submitting its own comments <br /> on such General or Specific Plans or Amendments. <br /> <br /> 2. The Tri-Valley Transportation Council will jointly review and provide comments <br /> and suggestions on any proposed new freeway, expressway, arterial, transit <br /> project or major intersection improvement of regional or subregional significance <br /> located in whole or in part in any member's territorial jurisdiction. This <br /> paragraph shall not be construed to prevent any member jurisdiction from <br /> submitting its own comments on such proposed facilities. <br /> <br /> 3. The Tri-Valley Transportation Council will prepare a Tri-Valley Transportation <br /> Plan, the primary purpose of which is to coordinate the planning, approval, <br /> funding, construction and operation of transportation facilities in the Tri-Valley <br /> Area. The parties hereto will consider the Plan when adopting or amending <br /> transportation portions of their General Plans, Specific Plans, Zoning Ordinance, <br /> or Capital Improvement Programs. <br /> <br /> 4. The Tri-Valley Transportation Council will seek, on behalf of its member <br /> jurisdictions, funding from Federal, State and local sources for transportation, <br /> <br /> <br />
