MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> TRI-VALLEY TRANSPORTATION PLANNING PROGRAM <br /> <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding is effective on the date last entered hereon by, <br />and between, and among the County of Alameda, the County of Contra Costa, the Town <br />of Danville, and the Cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon. <br /> <br /> R~EITAL.~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the jurisdiction's names above have formed the Tri-Valley Transportation <br />Council for the purpose of addressing transportation and related issues in the subregion <br />comprised of their jurisdictional territories (the 'Tri-Valley Area'); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, adequate transportation facilities are essential to the orderly <br />development of the Tri-Valley Area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Tri-Valley Transportation Council recognizes that the regional and <br />subregional transportation concerns and issues of its member jurisdictions are best resolved <br />on a regional or subregional basis; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intent of the parties to this Agreement that they establish a <br />mechanism by which to jointly plan the nature, location, and operation of major <br />transportation facilities in the Tri-Valley Area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the further intent of the paxties to this Agreement that they jointly <br />seek funding from any and all available sources for the construction and implementation <br />of such jointly planned facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
