' Cit"y of Pleasanton ) <br /> <br /> | <br /> <br /> February 7, 1989 <br /> Parks & Community Services <br /> <br /> SUBJECT: Approval of Fees and Charges For Recreational <br /> Services and Facilities <br /> <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> At their January 12, 1989 meeting the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission adopted Resolution 89-1 <br /> recommending: (1) approval of the Fees and Charges <br /> Schedule as submitted; (2) that staff be <br /> authorized to adjust fees and charges for services <br /> and facilities for up to 20% of the approved fees <br /> and charges without resubmitting the change to the <br /> City Council; (3) that staff be authorized <br /> to provide new program/classes at a fee based on <br /> the cost of service or established guidelines and <br /> that fees for such programs or classes be submitted <br /> to the Council for approval within a one year <br /> period from initiation of the class or program; and <br /> (4) and that the the Recreation Supervisors or <br /> Director be authorized to continue to enter into <br /> contractual agreements for program services. <br /> (AYES: Cooper, Oliverius, Silva & Vice Chairperson <br /> Fields; NOES: None; ABSTAIN: None; ABSENT: <br /> McKeon and Krahnke. <br /> <br /> STAFF RECOM~RNDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff concurs with the recommendation of the Park <br /> and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> <br /> It has been two years since the fees and charges <br /> for recreational services and facilities has been <br /> reviewed by the Council. The Department has <br /> implemented new classes and programs with fees <br /> requiring Council approval and has increased <br /> certain fees to the maximum allowed (20%) without <br /> bringing the fee schedule to the Council for <br /> approval. <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
