5. Utilities. All utility charges, including trash collection, electric, <br />gas, sewage, and water shall be paid for by City. County shall be responsible <br />for the payment of all telephone charges including charges related to long <br />distance service, telephone maintenance and repair, and telephone equipment <br />purchases. Major repairs, replacements, or upgrade of the phone system are <br />the City's responsibility. <br /> <br /> 6. Library Hours of Operation. County shall operate the premises of the <br />Pleasanton Library as a principal public library in the Alameda County Library <br />System. The hours of operation shall be consistent with the terms and <br />conditions as set forth in Exhibit A of this Agreement. The City shall have <br />the option to contract with the County to provide additional hours of library <br />service provided that City agrees to provide the necessary funding, as <br />determined by County, for providing such additional hours of service. <br /> <br /> 7. Services Provided. The County shall provide all library services in a <br />manner consistent with generally accepted library principles and practices. <br />Services to be provided are determined by policies set by authority of the <br />County Board of Supervisors. Said services shall include, but not be limited <br />to providing the following: books and other library materials; necessary <br />computer equipment; processing and inventory services; a wide range of <br />educational and informational programs; a wide range of community-related <br />programs such as story hours for children and programs for senior adults; all <br />administrative services; support to the City's Library Commission; all <br />personnel required to operate the library including attending meetings and <br />providing information on library usage and operations at the City's request. <br /> <br /> -5- <br /> <br /> <br />
