Exhibit A <br />Res. 2598 <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />ORDINANCE N0. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-5.32 OF ARTICLE 2 AND <br />SECTION 2-5.38 OF ARTICLE 3, CHAPTER 2, TITLE II OF THE <br />ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO PERMIT <br />FENCES, WALLS, AND HEDGES BETWEEN 6 FEET AND 8 FEET IN <br />HEIGHT IN SIDE AND REAR YARDS <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: Section 2-5.38 (Side and Rear Yards: Requirements and <br />Exceptions) of Article 3 (Site, Yard, Bulk, Usable Open <br />Space and Screening and Landscaping Regulations), <br />Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br />Pleasanton is hereby amended by adding subsection <br />2-5.38(g) to read as follows: <br />"Sec. 2-5.38(g) Fences, walls, and hedges greater than <br />six feet but not over eight feet in height may occupy a <br />required side or rear yard upon approval by the Zoning <br />Administrator. <br />(1) Application for a overheight fence, wall or hedge <br />pursuant to this subsection shall be made with the <br />Zoning Administrator, including any fee established <br />heretofor, and shall include a site plan, <br />elevations and such other information as determined <br />necessary by the Zoning Administrator to enable the <br />application to be reviewed. <br />(2) The Zoning Administrator, or his designee, shall <br />schedule a public hearing within 40 days of <br />submission of the application before the Zoning <br />Administrator and give notice thereof by mail no <br />less than ten (10) days prior to the date of the <br />public hearing to all owners of property contiguous <br />to the site of the proposal as shown on the last <br />equalized assessment roll. <br />(3) Upon conclusion of the public hearing, the Zoning <br />Administrator may approve, conditionally approve, <br />or deny the application. No application shall be <br />approved, as applied for or as conditioned, unless <br />the Zoning Administrator finds that the application <br />(i) conforms to the objectives of the Zoning <br />Ordinance, <br />
