projections (but not on top of sloping surfaces or <br />roofs): <br />a) Signs mounted to the vertical face of the <br />building projection, and therefore parallel to the <br />storefront. Such signs shall not exceed an overall <br />average height of two (2) feet; or <br />b) Signs suspended from a building projection, <br />and therefore perpendicular to the storefront. Such <br />signs shall not exceed an overall average height of <br />nine (9) inches. <br />1. Anv signs of a type allowed in <br />Al above <br />(A) above <br />B. All sign for business not having any frontage on Main <br />Street shall conform to the requirements set forth in <br />the Downtown Pleasanton Design Guidelines. The total <br />area of all signs facing any street shall not exceed one <br />(1) square foot for each linear front foot of business <br />establishment on such a street provided that a business <br />having less than 20 feet of frontage on a street shall <br />be permitted up to 20 square feet of sign area. <br />1. Any sign of a type allowed in Subsection (A) above <br />shall meet the criteria established in subsection (A) above. <br />2. SPECIAL USE SIGN <br />Residential properties lawfully converted to <br />non-residential uses shall be allowed one sign only and <br />it shall be either a wall sign or a freestanding sign. <br />- 16 - <br />
