PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF PLEASANTON
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. 2782
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF PLEASANTON APPROVING A USE PERMIT FOR
INVESTEC, INC. AS FILED UNDER CASE UP-86-12
WHEREAS, Investec, Inc. has applied for a conditional use permit
to operate an automobile washing facility/service
station/automobile leasing (limousine service), to be
located on an approximately 1.25 acre site located at
the southeast corner of the intersection of California
Avenue and Washington Street; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit
Development)-Commercial District; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission found that the proposed location
of the conditional use is in accordance with the
objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purposes of
the district in which the site is located.
The Ordinance Code states that the purpose of the CS
zoning district is to provide areas for commercial uses
that are incompatible with the purposes of other
commercial districts, and areas for commercial uses that
attract little or no pedestrian traffic. The Planning
Commission concurs with staff that the proposed
conditional uses reflect the purpose of the CS district
and are compatible with the existing uses now within the
Stanley Business Park; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission found that the proposed location
of the conditional use and the conditions under which it
would be operated or maintained will not be detrimental
to the public health, safety or welfare, or materially
injurious to the properties or improvements in the
vicinity.
The location of the proposed uses is within the approved
commercial planned unit development. All of the uses
would be constructed and maintained in compliance with
the State and City's regulations and requirements for
the storage and use of hazardous materials. Therefore,
none of the proposed uses would be detrimental to the
public health, safety or welfare of the adjacent
properties; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission found that the proposed
conditional use will comply with each of the applicable
provisions of the Ordinance Code.
