2.39.020 <br />selection process and public education <br />activities as part of the public art projects. <br />6. Review and recommend whether any <br />artworks proposed to be donated to the <br />city should be accepted. <br />7. With city council approval, apply for <br />and accept gifts, grants, funds, contribu- <br />tions and bequests from individuals and <br />public and private entities, agencies, foun- <br />dations, trusts, corporations and other <br />organizations or institutions. <br />8. Other powers and responsibilities as <br />outlined in other sections of this ordi- <br />nance and as may be appropriate in carry- <br />ing out the purposes and goals of this <br />ordinance and as set forth in reports or <br />recommendations adopted by the city <br />council. (Ord. 1819 § 1, 2001) <br />2.39.030 Membership; Appointments: <br />A. The commission shall have seven <br />(7) regulaz commissioners, and one alter- <br />nate commissioner all of whom shall be <br />residents of the city. <br />B. Four (4) regulaz commissioners and <br />the one alternate commissioner shall be <br />selected from the community at lazge. <br />C. At least two (2) regulaz commis- <br />sioners shall be working artists. "Working <br />aztists" shall be defined as those persons <br />who have enjoyed success in the exhibi- <br />tion of their works and enjoy the profes- <br />sional respect of their peers, or aze en- <br />gaged asinstructors of art, or have been <br />engaged as azt museum directors, gallery <br />curators or docents, or art consultants. <br />D. One regulaz commissioner shall be a <br />member of the Pleasanton cultural arts <br />council. <br />E. The regulaz commissioners and <br />alternate commissioner shall be appointed <br />by the mayor, subject to ratification by <br />the city council, as provided in the adopt- <br />ed city council resolution establishing <br />procedures for appointments to boazds <br />and commissions. <br />F. Commissioners shall be eligible to <br />participate in all activities of the com- <br />mission except that the alternate commis- <br />sioner shall vote only in the event of an <br />absence or conflict of interest of one of <br />the regular commissioners. <br />G. The alternate commissioner may <br />serve as a voting member on any subcom- <br />mittee of the commission and may be <br />designated as the commission's represen- <br />tative to other boards and commissions. <br />H. Commissioners shall be compensat- <br />ed as established by city council resolu- <br />tion. (Ord. 1819 § 1, 2001) <br />2.39.040 Term Of Membership: <br />A. Regulaz commissioners shall be <br />eligible to serve a maximum of eight (8) <br />yeazs with two (2) 4-yeaz terms. <br />B. Alternate commissioners shall be <br />eligible to serve four (4) yeaz terms and <br />are not subject to a limit in the number of <br />yeazs served. <br />C. The terms of commissioners shall be <br />consistent with and subject to city council <br />resolution concerning limiting service on <br />boazds and commissions.
