2.39.020 selection process and public education activities as part of the public art projects. 6. Review and recommend whether any artworks proposed to be donated to the city should be accepted. 7. With city council approval, apply for and accept gifts, grants, funds, contribu- tions and bequests from individuals and public and private entities, agencies, foun- dations, trusts, corporations and other organizations or institutions. 8. Other powers and responsibilities as outlined in other sections of this ordi- nance and as may be appropriate in carry- ing out the purposes and goals of this ordinance and as set forth in reports or recommendations adopted by the city council. (Ord. 1819 § 1, 2001) 2.39.030 Membership; Appointments: A. The commission shall have seven (7) regulaz commissioners, and one alter- nate commissioner all of whom shall be residents of the city. B. Four (4) regulaz commissioners and the one alternate commissioner shall be selected from the community at lazge. C. At least two (2) regulaz commis- sioners shall be working artists. "Working aztists" shall be defined as those persons who have enjoyed success in the exhibi- tion of their works and enjoy the profes- sional respect of their peers, or aze en- gaged asinstructors of art, or have been engaged as azt museum directors, gallery curators or docents, or art consultants. D. One regulaz commissioner shall be a member of the Pleasanton cultural arts council. E. The regulaz commissioners and alternate commissioner shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to ratification by the city council, as provided in the adopt- ed city council resolution establishing procedures for appointments to boazds and commissions. F. Commissioners shall be eligible to participate in all activities of the com- mission except that the alternate commis- sioner shall vote only in the event of an absence or conflict of interest of one of the regular commissioners. G. The alternate commissioner may serve as a voting member on any subcom- mittee of the commission and may be designated as the commission's represen- tative to other boards and commissions. H. Commissioners shall be compensat- ed as established by city council resolu- tion. (Ord. 1819 § 1, 2001) 2.39.040 Term Of Membership: A. Regulaz commissioners shall be eligible to serve a maximum of eight (8) yeazs with two (2) 4-yeaz terms. B. Alternate commissioners shall be eligible to serve four (4) yeaz terms and are not subject to a limit in the number of yeazs served. C. The terms of commissioners shall be consistent with and subject to city council resolution concerning limiting service on boazds and commissions.
