20.24.100 <br />20.24.100 Section 207-F Amended - <br />Prevention Of False <br />Alarms: <br />Section 207-F of the uniform fire <br />code is amended to read as follows: <br />shall be 2A IOB:C as listed by Un- <br />derwriters Laboratories (UL). <br />(Ord. 1778 § 6, 1999; Ord. 1669 § 6, <br />1995) <br />Section 207-F: Unwanted alarms. <br />1. It is unlawful for any property <br />owner or licensed contractor to fail <br />to notify the police/fire department <br />dispatch center prior to any test, <br />installation, repair, modification, <br />addition, or maintenance of any fire <br />alarm or fire extinguishing system <br />which could result in the transmis- <br />sion of an unwanted alarm. <br />2. The fire department may charge <br />fees that reasonably constitute the <br />cost of response to unwanted alarms <br />when it is determined that the report <br />is malicious, or resulting from the <br />failure to maintain a fire protection <br />alarm system. In the event of re- <br />sponses to automatic fire alarm sys- <br />tems, the responsible party will be <br />billed for the response upon the third <br />incident in any twelve-month period. <br />(Ord. 1806 § 2, 2000; Ord. 1778 § 6, <br />1999; Ord. 1669 § 6, 1995) <br />20.24.110 Section 1002.1.1 Added - <br />Fire Extinguishers: <br />UFC section 1002.1.1 is added to the <br />uniform fire code to read: <br />Section 1002.1.1 <br />The minimum size portable fire <br />extinguisher size for all occupancies <br />20.24.120 Section 1003.1.2.1 Added - <br />Installation Of Fire <br />Sprinkler Systems: <br />Section 1003.1.2.1 is added to the <br />uniform fire code to read: <br />Section 1003.1.2.1 <br />1. This Section applies to all new <br />and existing buildings. <br />2. Where the underside of roof <br />sheathing or the floor above is less <br />than fourteen (14) feet to the finished <br />floor and the building is for commer- <br />cial office space, a sprinkler design <br />of light hazard, or 0.10 gallons per <br />minute over the most hydraulically <br />remote 3,000 square feet is required. <br />Fire sprinkler design shall incorpo- <br />rate provisions for two (2) future <br />tenant improvement sprinkler drops <br />below the ceiling. <br />3. Where the underside of roof <br />sheathing is fourteen feet (14') or <br />less to the finished floor and hazard- <br />ous materials are not stored or used <br />in quantities that exceed Uniform <br />Building Code, Table 3D, a sprinkler <br />design of ordinary hazard, Group II, <br />with a minimum remote design area <br />of 3,000 square feet (0.18 gallons per <br />minute per square foot over the most <br />remote 3,000 square feet) is required. <br />710-13 (Pleasanton April 2001) <br />
