20.24.100 20.24.100 Section 207-F Amended - Prevention Of False Alarms: Section 207-F of the uniform fire code is amended to read as follows: shall be 2A IOB:C as listed by Un- derwriters Laboratories (UL). (Ord. 1778 § 6, 1999; Ord. 1669 § 6, 1995) Section 207-F: Unwanted alarms. 1. It is unlawful for any property owner or licensed contractor to fail to notify the police/fire department dispatch center prior to any test, installation, repair, modification, addition, or maintenance of any fire alarm or fire extinguishing system which could result in the transmis- sion of an unwanted alarm. 2. The fire department may charge fees that reasonably constitute the cost of response to unwanted alarms when it is determined that the report is malicious, or resulting from the failure to maintain a fire protection alarm system. In the event of re- sponses to automatic fire alarm sys- tems, the responsible party will be billed for the response upon the third incident in any twelve-month period. (Ord. 1806 § 2, 2000; Ord. 1778 § 6, 1999; Ord. 1669 § 6, 1995) 20.24.110 Section 1002.1.1 Added - Fire Extinguishers: UFC section 1002.1.1 is added to the uniform fire code to read: Section 1002.1.1 The minimum size portable fire extinguisher size for all occupancies 20.24.120 Section 1003.1.2.1 Added - Installation Of Fire Sprinkler Systems: Section 1003.1.2.1 is added to the uniform fire code to read: Section 1003.1.2.1 1. This Section applies to all new and existing buildings. 2. Where the underside of roof sheathing or the floor above is less than fourteen (14) feet to the finished floor and the building is for commer- cial office space, a sprinkler design of light hazard, or 0.10 gallons per minute over the most hydraulically remote 3,000 square feet is required. Fire sprinkler design shall incorpo- rate provisions for two (2) future tenant improvement sprinkler drops below the ceiling. 3. Where the underside of roof sheathing is fourteen feet (14') or less to the finished floor and hazard- ous materials are not stored or used in quantities that exceed Uniform Building Code, Table 3D, a sprinkler design of ordinary hazard, Group II, with a minimum remote design area of 3,000 square feet (0.18 gallons per minute per square foot over the most remote 3,000 square feet) is required. 710-13 (Pleasanton April 2001)
