20.24.010 governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion that certain code known as the uniform fire code, volumes 1 and 2, more particu- larly described in this section, except such portions as are amended, modified or deleted in this chapter, and the same is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length in this chapter. B. Said code is the California build- ing standards code 1998 edition (24 CCR), and including by reference the uniform fire code, 1997 edition, vol- umes 1 and 2, including all indexes and appendixes, except appendix chapter I-A, I-B, II-C, II-E, III-B and VI-D, published by the international confer- ence of building officials in cooperation with the Western Fire Chiefs Associa- tion, Inc., three (3) copies of which are on file with the city clerk for use by the public. (Ord. 1778 § 6, 1999; Ord. 1669 § 6, 1995 ) 20.24.020 Board Of Appeals: Section 103.1.4 of the adopted uni- form fire code is amended to read as follows: In order to determine the suitability of alternative material and type of construction and to provide for rea- sonable interpretations of the provi- sions of this Code, there shall be and hereby is established a Board of Appeals, the members of which shall be the City Council of the City of Pleasanton. The City Manager shall act as secretary to the Board. The City Manager shall call all meetings of the Board. (Ord. 1778 § 6, 1999; Ord. 1669 § 6, 1995) 20.24.030 Section 1003 Amended - Automatic Fire Protection Systems: Section 1003 of the adopted uniform fire code is amended to read as follows: Notwithstanding any other provision of the Pleasanton Municipal Code, including this Uniform Fire Code, installation of automatic Fire protec- tion systems shall be required as provided in Section 20.08.045 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. (Ord. 1778 § 6, 1999; Ord. 1669 § 6, 1995) 20.24.035 Amendments To Uniform Fire Code: The uniform fire code adopted in this chapter by reference is amended by the additions, deletions, and amendments thereto as set forth in this chapter. Reference numbers herein are taken from the uniform fire code and stan- dards. (Ord. 1778 § 6, 1999; Ord. 1669 § 6, 1995) 20.24.040 Definitions: A. Whenever the following terms are used in the uniform fire code: 1. "Chief executive officer" means the city manager of the city of Pleasanton. 2. "Corporation counsel" means the city attorney. 3.
