11.44.100 <br />vehicle, or parts thereof, as a public <br />nuisance shall be secured to the vehicle <br />and a copy of the notice shall be either: <br />1) served personally on the owner of <br />the vehicle and the owner of the land, <br />2) mailed by registered or certified mail <br />to the owner of the vehicle and the <br />owner of the land, or 3) posted to the <br />door of the house, apartment, building, <br />or other structure on the property on <br />which the vehicle, or parts thereof, are <br />situated. <br />The notice of intention shall be in <br />substantially the following forms: <br />1. Notice To Owner Of Land: <br />NOTICE OF INTENTION TO <br />ABATE AND REMOVE AN <br />ABANDONED, WRECKED, <br />DISMANTLED, OR INOPERATIVE <br />VEHICLE, OR PARTS THEREOF, <br />AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE <br />(Name and address of owner of the <br />land) <br />As owner shown on the last equal- <br />ized assessment roll of the land lo- <br />cated at (address), you are hereby <br />notified that pursuant to Chapter <br />11.44 of the Pleasanton Municipal <br />Code, the undersigned has deter- <br />mined that there exists upon said <br />land an abandoned, wrecked, dis- <br />mantled or inoperative vehicle, or <br />parts thereof, registered to (name), <br />license number (number), which <br />constitutes a public nuisance. <br />You are hereby notified to abate said <br />nuisance by the removal of said <br />vehicle, or said parts thereof, within <br />ten (10) days from the date of mail- <br />ing or other service of this notice, <br />and upon your failure to do so, the <br />same shall be abated and removed by <br />the City of Pleasanton and the costs <br />thereof, together with administrative <br />costs, assessed to you as the owner <br />of the land on which said vehicle, or <br />parts thereof, is located. Said vehicle <br />may also be disposed of pursuant to <br />California Vehicle Code Section <br />22662. <br />As the owner of the land on which <br />said vehicle, or parts thereof, is <br />located, you are hereby notified that <br />you may, within ten (10) days after <br />the mailing or other service of this <br />notice of intention, request a public <br />hearing and if such a request is not <br />received by the Chief of Police with- <br />in such ten (10) day period, the <br />Chief of Police shall have the au- <br />thority to abate, remove and dispose <br />of said vehicle, or parts thereof, as a <br />public nuisance and assess the costs <br />as aforesaid without a public hear- <br />ing. You may submit a sworn written <br />statement within such ten (10) day <br />period denying responsibility for the <br />presence of said vehicle, or parts <br />thereof, on said land, with your <br />reasons for denial, and such state- <br />ment shall be construed as a request <br />of hearing at which your presence is <br />not required. You may appear in <br />person at any hearing requested by <br />you or the owner of the vehicle or, in <br />lieu thereof, may present a sworn <br />written statement as aforesaid in <br />(Pleasanton April 2000) 2'] g <br />
