7.04.010 Chapter 7.04 GENERAL PROVISIONS Sections: 7.04.010 Title 7.04.020 Definitions 7.04.010 Title: This Title shall be known as ANI- MAL CONTROL. (Prior Code § 4-5.01) 7.04.020 Definitions: For the purpose of this Title, unless it is plainly evident from the context that a different meaning is intended, certain terms used in this Title are defined as follows: A. "Animal" means any mammal in- cluding, but not limited to, horse, cow, goat, sheep, dog and cat. B. "Animal control agency" means the Police Department of the City. C. "At large" means a dog off the premises of its owner and not under restraint by leash, or chain, or not oth- erwise controlled by a competent per- son. D. "Area" means the unincorporated area of the City that has adopted the provisions of this Title. E. "Director" means the Chief of Police of the City or his authorized deputy or representative. F. "Dog" means any member of the canine family, and shall include female as well as male dogs. G. "Fees and charges resolution" means the resolution establishing fees and charges for various Municipal services of the City'. H. "Health officer" means the Chief of Police of the City, or his authorized deputy or representative. I. "Horse" means and includes mule, burro, pony, jack, hinny or jenny. J. "Owner" means any person, firm or corporation owning, having an inter- est in, or having control or custody or possession of any animal. K. "Person" means and includes any person, partnership, corporation, trust and association of persons. L. "Shelter" means facility designat- ed by Director for impoundment of animals. M. "Wild animal" means any animal not ordinarily and customarily domesti- cated, including, but not limited to, skunk, raccoon, opossum, squirrel and fox, but under human control.
