7.04.010 <br />Chapter 7.04 <br />GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />Sections: <br />7.04.010 Title <br />7.04.020 Definitions <br />7.04.010 Title: <br />This Title shall be known as ANI- <br />MAL CONTROL. (Prior Code § 4-5.01) <br />7.04.020 Definitions: <br />For the purpose of this Title, unless <br />it is plainly evident from the context <br />that a different meaning is intended, <br />certain terms used in this Title are <br />defined as follows: <br />A. "Animal" means any mammal in- <br />cluding, but not limited to, horse, cow, <br />goat, sheep, dog and cat. <br />B. "Animal control agency" means <br />the Police Department of the City. <br />C. "At large" means a dog off the <br />premises of its owner and not under <br />restraint by leash, or chain, or not oth- <br />erwise controlled by a competent per- <br />son. <br />D. "Area" means the unincorporated <br />area of the City that has adopted the <br />provisions of this Title. <br />E. "Director" means the Chief of <br />Police of the City or his authorized <br />deputy or representative. <br />F. "Dog" means any member of the <br />canine family, and shall include female <br />as well as male dogs. <br />G. "Fees and charges resolution" <br />means the resolution establishing fees <br />and charges for various Municipal <br />services of the City'. <br />H. "Health officer" means the Chief <br />of Police of the City, or his authorized <br />deputy or representative. <br />I. "Horse" means and includes mule, <br />burro, pony, jack, hinny or jenny. <br />J. "Owner" means any person, firm <br />or corporation owning, having an inter- <br />est in, or having control or custody or <br />possession of any animal. <br />K. "Person" means and includes any <br />person, partnership, corporation, trust <br />and association of persons. <br />L. "Shelter" means facility designat- <br />ed by Director for impoundment of <br />animals. <br />M. "Wild animal" means any animal <br />not ordinarily and customarily domesti- <br />cated, including, but not limited to, <br />skunk, raccoon, opossum, squirrel and <br />fox, but under human control.
