7.36.010 <br />Chapter 7.36 <br />MISCELLANEOUS ANIMAL <br />REGULATIONSt <br />Sections: <br />7.36.010 Household Pets <br />7.36.020 Police Dogs - <br /> Interference Or <br /> Mistreatment <br />7.36.030 Canine Defecation - <br /> Removal Thereof <br />7.36.040 Fowl And Rabbits - At <br /> Large <br />7.36.050 Cleanliness Of <br /> Premises Where <br /> Animals Are Kept <br />7.36.010 Household Pets: <br />The keeping or maintenance of any <br />household pet or pets or any other <br />animal or animals in such manner, <br />number or kind as to cause damage or <br />hazard to persons or property in the <br />vicinity or to generate offensive noise, <br />dust or odor, shall not be permitted. <br />(Ord. 1919 § 8, 2005) <br />7.36.020 Police Dogs -Interference <br />Or Mistreatment: <br />No person shall wilfully or mali- <br />ciously torture, torment, beat, kick, <br />strike, mutilate, injure, disable or kill <br />any dog used by the county sheriff or <br />police department in the performance of <br />the functions or duties of such depart- <br />ment, or interfere with or meddle with <br />any such dog while being used by the <br />department or any member thereof in <br />the performance of any of the functions <br />or duties of the department or of such <br />officer or member. (Ord. 1919 § 8, <br />2005) <br />7.36.030 Canine Defecation - <br />Removal Thereof: <br />A. Any owner of any dog shall have <br />the duty to remove immediately any <br />feces left by such dog on any public <br />place and to dispose of such feces in a <br />sanitary manner. <br />B. Any owner of any dog in or on a <br />public place shall have in such person's <br />immediate possession a device, equip- <br />ment, or container for the picking up <br />and removal of animal feces. For pur- <br />poses of this section, such device, <br />equipment, or container shall be <br />deemed to be in a person's immediate <br />possession if such device, equipment, <br />or container is in a person's hand or is <br />on the person, such as within a pocket. <br />C. No person shall fail or refuse to <br />show to the chief of police or to any <br />police officer such device or equipment <br />if the device or equipment is not visi- <br />ble. <br />D. The provisions of subsections B <br />and C of this section shall not apply to <br />any disabled person when the person's <br />disability requires a dog to accompany <br />the person or to a person using a dog in <br />emergency or rescue activities.
