(Ord. 1869 § 3, 2002; Ord. 1778 § 3, 1999; Prior Code § 2-13.28(c)) 20.12.030 Section 604.1 Amended - Materials: Section 604.1 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition (24 CCR), and including by reference the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2000 Edition, is amended as follows: 20.12.035 Section 413.1 Amended - Fixture Count: Section 413.1 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition (24 CCR), and including by reference the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2000 Edition, is amended as follows: 413.1 Fixture Count. Plumbing fix- tures shall be provided for the type of building occupancy and in the minimum number shown in Table A-29-A, of Appendix Chapter 29 of the California Building Standards Code 2001 Edition, (24 C.C.R.), and including by reference the Uniform Building Code, 1997 Edition. (Ord. 1869 § 3, 2002; Ord. 1778 § 3, 1999) 604.1 Water pipe and fitting shall be of brass, copper, cast iron, galva- nized malleable iron, galvanized wrought iron, galvanized steel, or other approved materials. Cast iron fittings used for water need not be galvanized if over two (2) inches (51 mm) in size. Asbestos-cement, CPVC, PE, or PVC water pipe manu- factured to recognized standards may be used for cold water distribution outside a building. All materials used in the water supply system, except valves and similar devices shall be of alike material, except where other- wise approved by the Chief Building Official. (Ord. 1869 § 3, 2002; Prior Code § 2-13.32) 20.12.050 Interpretation: The language used in this chapter and in the adopted uniform plumbing code is intended to convey the common and accepted meaning familiar to the plumbing industry. Should any question arise, the chief building official is authorized to determine the intent and meaning of any provision of this chap- ter.
