20.20.022 <br />clear distance given in Table <br />110-26(a) away from such equip- <br />ment. <br />(Ord. 1869 § 5, 2002) <br />20.20.024 Article 210-12(b) <br />Amended -Dwelling Unit <br />Bedrooms: <br />Article 210-12(b) of the California <br />Building Standards Code 2001 Edition <br />(24 C.C.R.), and including by reference <br />the National Electrical Code, is amend- <br />ed to read as follows: <br />(b) Dwelling Unit Bedrooms. All <br />branch circuits that supply 125-volt, <br />single-phase, 15 and 20-ampere <br />outlets installed in dwelling unit <br />bedrooms shall be protected by an <br />arc-fault circuit interrupter listed to <br />provide protection of the entire <br />branch circuit. <br />(Ord. 1869 § 5, 2002) <br />20.20.025 Article 336-4 Amended - <br />Uses Permitted: <br />Article 336-4 of the California Build- <br />ing Standards Code 2001 Edition (24 <br />C.C.R.), and including by reference the <br />National Electrical Code, is amended to <br />read as follows: <br />Section 336-4 Uses Permitted <br />Type NM, Type NMC, and Type <br />NMS cables shall be permitted to be <br />used in the following: <br />(1) One- and Two-Family dwellings. <br />(2) Multifamily dwellings permitted <br />to be of Types III, IV, and V con- <br />struction except as prohibited in <br />336-5. <br />(3) Other structures permitted to be <br />of Types III, IV, and V construction <br />except as prohibited in Article 336-5. <br />Cables shall be concealed within <br />walls, floors, or ceilings that provide <br />a thermal barrier of material that has <br />at least a 15-minute finish rating as <br />identified in listings of fire-rated <br />assemblies. <br />(4) Cable trays, where the cables are <br />identified for such use <br />FPN: See Section 310-10 for <br />temperature limitation of conduc- <br />tors. <br />(a) Type NM. Type NM cable shall <br />be permitted for both exposed and <br />concealed work in normally dry <br />location. It shall be permissible to <br />install or fish type NM cable in air <br />voids in masonry block or the wall <br />where such walls are not exposed or <br />subject to excessive moisture or <br />dampness. <br />(b) Type NMC. Type NMC cable <br />shall be permitted as follows: <br />(1) For both exposed and con- <br />cealed work in dry, moist, damp, <br />or corrosive locations <br />(2) In outside and inside walls of <br />masonry block or the <br />(3) In a shallow chase in mason- <br />ry, concrete, or adobe protected <br />(Pleasanton April 2003) '710_$ <br />
