QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE BSK & Associates is a multi-discipline professional organization specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology and Geohydrology, Materials Testing and Construction Observations and Analytical Testing. BSK has five offices in California. The Bay Area offices are situated in Pleasanton and Hayward. Other offices are situated in Fresno, Visalia and Bakersfield. All offices possess materials and soils testing laboratories. State-certified, modern analytical . laboratories are included with the Fresno facilities. The fi~m has five drill rigs that are capable of a wide range of soil sampling, field testing, rock coring, and installation of instrumentation. Field equipment includes geophysical survey instruments and nuclear moisture and density probes. Total staff in the project offices includes 85 professionals, technicians, drillers and administrative staff members. Our professional staff includes civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, geologists, geohydrologists, and chemists. The reputation of individual members of the professional staff is well established throughout their regions of influence. The firm provides full geotechnical services, including site evaluations, soil exploration, seismic hazard studies, earth and pavement movement evaluations, and geological studies. The staff provides design recommendations for structural foundations and retaining walls, and performs pavement design evaluations. BSK opened its Pleasanton office in July, 1983 to better serve its Northern California clients. Local qualified and experienced technical staff have been selected to complement the initial core of BSK-trained management personnel. Laboratory and drilling equipment have been acquired such that the office has the dual advantage of being self-sufficient yet able to freely draw on the considerable resources of the total organization should the need arise. Further examples of the BSK Pleasanton Office's qualifications include selection, after competitive evaluation, by the Army Corps of Engineers, Caltrans and the Western Division of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command for materials testing, construction inspection and geotechnical engineering services.
