f'-' Ms. Decker noted that the site had been approved for a senior site, and the developer has
held its own neighborhood meeting; the neighborhood has been dismayed at learning that
the development could go in with a 1985 approval. A PUD modification to reduce the
height of the structures may be entertained.
8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION
a. Future Planning Calendar
There were none.
b. Actions of the City Council
There were none.
c. Actions of the Zoning Administrator
Commissioner Blank inquired when appeal period would expire for the PDR-486
application for design review to allow an existing redesigned wireless communications
facility to remain at 450 Main Street.
Ms. Decker replied that the appeal had been withdrawn and that staff had worked
~ extensively with the applicant to replace the flagpole and give it a tapered appeazance; a
matching flag would be added.
Commissioner Blank noted that he planned to appeal this item because previous
applications had required language for RF interference complaints; he hoped that
applicant would be able to insert it without having to appeaz before the Commission.
Ms. Decker noted that those conditions had been discussed as standard conditions and
that they were not included due to a staff oversight. She noted that they had discussed
those conditions with the applicant and that there was no need to appeal. Commissioner
Blank requested a copy of those conditions.
Chinese Learnin Cg enter
Commissioner Roberts noted that the Chinese Learning Center on Santa Rita Road had a
lot of writing on the windows, and she did not believe it complied with the signage
requirements.
Ms. Decker noted that the Code Enforcement Officer had discussed this issue with the
applicant and that the signage was approved to mirror the chiropractic office next door.
She confirmed that the lettering on the windows will go away.
Commissioner Maas believed that uses with signage in anon-English language should be
~.-, confirmed to ensure its meaning.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES February 22, 2006 Page 20 of 21
