~ Paee VI-22 <br />Commissioner Blank noted that this section did not discuss diversity at all as a general <br />community goal. <br />Paee VI-23: <br />There were none. <br />Paee VI-31 <br />Commissioner Blank would like to add two potential goals: improvement of drainage at <br />Upper Bernal, and developing a more robust sports pazk. He noted that the drainage <br />could be improved to reduce frequent closure of the fields. <br />Paee VI-32 <br />Commissioner Fox inquired about the deletion of "discourage charging access fees for <br />use of City parks." <br />Mr. Wolfe noted that access fees were not chazged to use public parks and that they were <br />available for the community's use. <br />Commissioner Fox suggested the following language regarding potential amenities in <br />community parks: "Provide additional lighted facilities in appropriate community pazks <br />to accommodate the community's nighttime recreational needs." <br />Mr. Wolfe noted that there was an advantage to identifying specific azeas with respect to <br />lighted sports fields so that potential homebuyers may receive the proper disclosures <br />before the purchase. <br />Paee VI-33 <br />Commissioner Fox suggested that a program connect the major pazks via trails and <br />pedestrian walkways; she suggested that a new Program 16.21 be used for that goal. <br />Ms. Stern believed that would be a good addition to this element as well as to the <br />Circulation Element. <br />Paee VI-34: <br />There were none. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Februazy 22, 2006 Page 12 of 21 <br />
