1989-90 OPERATING BUDGET <br /> ADDITIONAL REQUESTS <br /> <br />I. Tri-Valley Community Television <br /> <br /> Included in the 1989-90 budget is a request for $30,000 <br />which would fund current programming, plus 16 weeks of 580/680 <br />News. <br /> <br /> Per the letter dated April 28, an additional $12,500 is <br />requested to fund 580/680 News for the additional 36 weeks of the <br />year. <br /> <br />II. Amador Valley Historical Society <br /> <br /> The City contributed $10,000 in 1988-89 to the Historical <br />Society for operating costs. Per the letter dated May 19, the <br />Society is requesting $10,000 for 1989-90. This amount has not <br />been included in the 1989-90 budget. <br /> <br />III. Alameda County Library <br /> <br /> Included in the 1989-90 budget is $157,109 to fund 22 hours <br />of library service each week. <br /> <br /> Per the letter dated March 29, the following additional <br />funding is being requested: <br /> <br /> Books and Other Library Materials <br /> <br /> Requested is $60,000 to be spent half for children's <br />materials and half for adult materials. This is to augment the <br />approximately $135,000 the County will spend. <br /> <br /> Special Library Proqrams <br /> <br /> Requested is $5,000 to expand the number and variety of <br />special programs for children and others. <br /> <br /> Bookleqqer Pro~ect <br /> <br /> Requested is $50,000 to take books to all elementary school <br />classes in Pleasanton to introduce the joys of reading. An <br />additional $13,570 to $27,140 could be used to pay for added <br />copies of these same books for the school libraries. <br /> <br />(addtlreq) <br /> <br /> <br />
