City of Pleasanton

RTAFF
EPORT

Finance Department
June 20, 1989

SUBJECT: Resolution Approving the 1989-90 Operating
Budget for the City of Pleasanton.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

1. Staff recommends that the City Council
adopt the 1989-90 Operating Budget per
the printed budget, less $10,000 relating
to Redevelopment costs no longer
necessary.

2. Staff recommends that the City Council
give further consideration to the
additional items outlined in this Staff
Report and take appropriate action.

Honorable Mayor and Members of the Council:

BACKGROUND

The City Council reviewed the proposed 1989-90 Operating Budget
at a public study session on June 13, 1989. It was determined
that $10,000 proposed for set-up costs for Redevelopment should
be deleted from the Planning Department budget because of the
defeat of Measure C. It was also determined that further
consideration should be given to requests from the Tri-Valley
Community Television Corporation, the Amador Valley Historical
Society, and the Alameda County Library. A summary of these
requests is attached. Lastly, it was suggested that further
consideration be given to adding more personnel resources to the
Code Enforcement Program.

If the levels of support indicated below were given to the three
agencies requesting additional funds, the following would be the
status of the General Fund:

SR:89:286 1
