THE CITY OF ~ 0 <br />~ ~ ~ -~- ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />~L£~S~4NTONo <br />July 17, 2007 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF COOPERATIVE FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CITY OF DUBLIN AND EAST BAY REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT FOR <br />DESIGN OF THE ALAMO CANAL TRAIL EXTENSION, CIP 047020 <br />SUMMARY <br />In November 2006, the City Council received a presentation by a representative of East <br />Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) on the feasibility of extending the Alamo Canal <br />Trail under I-580 to connect Pleasanton and Dublin. The next phase of the project is <br />preparation of construction plans, cost estimates, and acquiring all necessary permits. <br />As part of this proposed Cooperative Funding Agreement, the City would contribute <br />$47,500 toward the project. The Alameda County Transportation Improvement <br />Authority (ACTIA), City of Dublin, and EBRPD are also providing funding for the design <br />work. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />That the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute the proposed Cooperative <br />Funding Agreement, including the allocation of $47,500 for design, permitting and <br />related tasks. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The Alamo Canal Trail Extension under I-580 Project, CIP 047020, has a balance of <br />$77,500 to fund this project. In addition, $625,000 was identified in the FY 2007-08 and <br />FY 2008-09 Capital Improvement Program for Pleasanton's potential share of the actual <br />construction costs. <br />
