CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SELF-INSPECTION PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN <br />SMALL BUSINESS OCCUPANCIESDEFINED HEREIN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The directive to inspect commercial occupancies is contained in <br /> Section 2.201 of the city fire code (20.24 PMS); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The number of conmercial occupancies has increased significantly <br /> in the last few years resulting in an increase to the inspection <br /> cycle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The time between inspections, one and one-half years, is in <br /> conflict with good fire protection practices; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The demand for department resources must be directed to those <br /> occupancies that present the more severe fire and life safety <br /> hazards; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Self-inspection by certain small business occupancies will permit <br /> a reduction of the present time between inspections; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Said reduction will allow the cc~,Ltunity to regain the former level <br /> of fire protection. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PI.F. ASANTON RESOLVES AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: Resolution No. 89- (A Resolution Establishing A Self-Inspection <br />Program for Certain Small Business Occupancies) is established to augment the <br />intent of section 2.201 of the Uniform Fire Code, to wit, to identify and <br />remove fire hazards through aninspection procedure as set forth in Exhibits <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. <br /> <br /> <br />
