Box 520 Pleasanton, CA 94566-0802 Subject: Phase I Preliminary Design for Downtown Pleasanton City Parking Lots A89X0054 Dear Mr. Lee: Korve Engineering, Inc. is pleased to submit this revised proposal for preliminary design services for nine proposed parking lots in downtown Pleasanton located on either side of Main Street as shown on Table One. The services are to be broken down into two phases. Phase One includes the preliminary design for each of the parking lots and Phase Two is the preparation of construction documents and assistance during the bidding process. Phase Two could include the services of a lighting engineer and landscape designer. This proposal addresses the scope and budget for Phase One only. For Phase Two we have included an outline scope, but no budget. PHASE ONE - PRELIMINARY DESIGN SERVICES Task One- Base Map Development For each of the proposed parking lots we will prepare a base map of existing conditions using the 20 scale reproducible topos supplied by the city. The maps will include information on the existing layouts, existing utilities and right-of-way information. The right-of-way information will be obtained from assessor's maps and will be verffied by reviewing existing title reports. We understand that there are some discrepancies in the assessor's maps and the fact that they may not have been updated for many years. These base maps will be prepared at 1 "=20' scale - the scale of the topo base drawings. We will also conduct a survey of current usage of the seven existing parking lots. This occupant survey would be conducted in the early afternoon on a weekday. Korve Engineering, Inc.
