APPROVAL OF MINUTBS <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gibbs, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, and carried, the <br />minutes of the meeting of January 8, 1969, were approved as submitted. <br />4. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THB AGBNDA <br />Add - Item 13d - Z-69-17, W. Mark Moyers dba Allied Brokers <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />a. UP-68-11. Pentecostal Charch of God <br />Application of the Pentecostal Church of God to allow the construction of a Church <br />in a R-1 District at that property ca®only known as 431 Neal Street, Pleasanton, <br />containing 1.49 acres more or less (Public Hearing continued from December 11, <br />1968). <br />Chairman Plato opened the Public Hearing. Planning Director Castro read two addi- <br />tional letters stating objections to the proposed location of the Church, from <br />Mr. and Mrs. Frank Balms, 4515 Entrada Court, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Briemle, 4535 <br />Entrada Court. Mr. Castro explained the staff report, making it very clear that <br />the Planning Department is not opposed to Churches, as each, but is only concerned <br />with the choice of locations for a. Church, its relationship to the surrounding <br />area, traffic circulation, noise factor, etc. In conclusion, he stated that the <br />Planning Department still reco®ends denial of the application for the proposed <br />location. <br />Reverend McKean, the applicant, spoke in defense of hie application. He referred <br />to the dome-shaped type of "Cathedralite" Church drawing he had submitted to the <br />Planning Department as a possible type of structure the Pentecostal Church would <br />eventually erect on the lot; still maintaining the traffic circulation is not a <br />serious problem and feels the Church site is in a good location. <br />Pros and cone were raised by individuals in the audience as follows: <br />Mr. Bill Wiaains - 495 Neal Street <br />This gentleman stated that he got the impression at <br />the Last Public Hearing that a building inspection <br />had already been made of the property.
