PUBLIC HEARINGS - NEW BUSINESS
a. RZ-69-5, Spivak-Bollictrter Development Companv
Application to rezone from an A (Agricultural) District to a C-N (Commercial
Neighborhood) District, that property described as Parcel #15 of Assessor's
Map Book 946, Block #1100, containing 1.37 acres, more or less, and bounded
by Santa Rita Road and Taesajara Road.
Chairman Plato opened the Public Hearing. Acting Secretary Aiello read the
staff report and explained its contents to the Commissioners, which requested
a continuance of this item until the first meeting in April - April 9, 1969.
Mr. Barry Spivak, the applicant, was present and inquired what the staff
proposed to study between now and April when the application was requested
for rescheduling. It was explained that the General Plan had designated three
predominant areas for major shopping centers. The one site chosen for Hopyard
Road has been abandoned, leaving two. There were indications that the
preferred site is the one on Foothill Road and based on the understanding
that the site that would be developed first was the one that would receive
the firat~t.commitmente on establishing a Regional Center, the Planning Depart-
ment felt=a further study of the site at Taesajara Road would be needed
before a defsermination cohld be made as to the amount of commercial zoning
to remain•in the area.
- 1 -
