.. ~ -~ <br />13. MATTERS FCR INFORMATION OF THE COMMISSION <br />a. Memorandum from the Director of Public Works regardi a Interior Linear Parks <br />This item was in the form of a memorandum dated March 3, 1969, from the Director <br />of Public Works addressed to the Planning Commission and the Recreation and Park <br />Commission. <br />Mr. Castro stated that since he had a few differences of opinion on this item <br />from the Director of Public Works, he would like to set a joint meeting between <br />the Park and Recreation Commissioners and the Planning Commissioners, to see just <br />what direction the Commission will take regarding park concepts and design. <br />Reference was made to a statement Mr. Fales made regarding the possibility of <br />Pleasanton having reached a saturation point as far ae parks are concerned. Mr. Castro <br />stated that in Southern California, it was found in a study that a large regional <br />park was more economical to maintain than numerous small neighborhood parka. <br />It was decided to arrange a meeting between the two Commissions. <br />b. Si ns <br />This was a report back to the Commission regarding certain signs which were in <br />violation of the Ordinance, and which were noticed by the Cos®issioners. <br />14. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MBMBERS <br />a. The Commissioners discussed the possibility of adding two more members to the <br />Planning Commission panel. Basically, the Commissioners were not in favor of <br />this idea at this time. <br />b. Chairman Plato made reference to the fact that he was upset to learn that the <br />Fa lender Homes development will be situated over an earthquake fault. The Director <br />of Public Works clarified this matter by stating that each developer is required to <br />obtain a report from a Soils Engineer, and his recommendations are taken into <br />consideration by the City staff in determining the feasibility of situating a <br />development in any given area. <br />There being no further business, upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by <br />Commissioner Carrigan, and carried, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM. <br />8 - <br />
