Mr. Lou Young, 7911 Stoneridge Court, had a question regarding the restrictions
and covenants attached to the purchase of the townhouse unit, and whether this
arrangement was compulsory. .The reply was that it was compulsory that each
homebuyer participate in the restrictions and covenants pertaining to the
maintenance arrangement for the townhouse development, and that this arrangement
was messed on to the purchaser of said unit from the original purchaser, etc.
Finally, the Planning Director spoke summarizing his feelings regarding this
concept for providing housing for a rapidly growing City such ae Pleasanton.
He voiced approval of the concept and the imagination of the architects.
Mr. Castro further stated that he had contacted the School District and received
no adverse comments from then regarding this development.
It was Chairman Garrigan's feeling that the Commission would require additional
time to study this item. Two field trips have been planned to aid the Commissioners
in coming to a final decision.
Upon motion of Chairman Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Pons, it was moved.
to continue PUD-69-5 to the meeting of September 24, 1969.
a
Application to allow the construction of an automobile service station at that
property described as Parcel 15, Assessor's Map Book 946, Block 1100, containing
1.37 acres, more or less, in a C-F (Commercial Freeway) District.
Chairman Carrigan opened the Public Hearing. There were no questions from the
audience or the Commission. The applicant was not present.
Upon motion of Chairman Carrigan, seconded by Commissioner Pons, and carried, the
Public Hearing was closed.
Upon motion of Chairman Carrigan, seconded by Commissioner Pons, and carried, the
following resolution was adopted unanimously.
RESOZUTION No. 945
WHEREAS, the application of Spivak-Bollinger Development
Company to allow the construction of an auto-
mobile service station at that property described
as Parcel 15, in Assessor's Map Book 946,
Block 1100, containing 1.37 acres, more or less,
in a C-F (Commercial Freeway) District, has
come before this Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that approval of UP-69-18 is hereby
given subject to the following conditions:
1. That approval of said service station building
and re]ated amenities shall be subject to the
review and approval of the Design Review Board
of the City of Pleasanton.
2. That the applicant shall dedicate the
necessary right-of-way on Santa Rita and
Taesajara Roads and shall improve said streets
subject to the conditions as proposed by the
Director of Public Works.
e._ UP-69-19, James R. and Lucy T. Bell
Application to allow the operation of a day care center Por a maximum of five (5)
children in their home located at 1781 Orchard Way, Pleasanton, in a residential
district.
Chairman Carrigan opened the Public Hearing. The Commissioners basically did not
have objections, with the exception of Commissioner Gibbs, who stated that a
problem might be developing i,n Pleasanton if the number of applications for
day-care centers accelerates swiftly. Commissioner Antonini concurred with this
thought. It was suggested then, that perhaps the staff should send out
notification letters to neighbors within a 300 ft. radius of intentions to
conduct a child care center, which would include children of welfare cases.
This was taken under advisement by the staff.
-4-
