~. - ,~ PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CZTY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA MINUTES The adjourned meeting of the City Planning Commission was called to order at the City Hall on April 11, 195? at 8;10 P.M., Chairman Hewitson presiding. Roll Call: Present: - Commissioners Hewitson, Abrott, Hanifen, Trowbridge, Wharton and Hartle Absent: -Commissioner Wetherby The minutes of March 28th were approved as forwarded on motion by Commissioner Abrott, seconded by Commissioner Hanifen. Mr. Ceorge Bolton„ of 360 Abbie Street, presented his request for a variance hearing to build a garage adjacent to his home. After some discussion as to the necessity of afire wall it was decided that the Commissioners would visit Mr. Bolton~s home on Sunday, April 14th for further study. A Public Hearing on the variance was set for 8:00 P.M. on May 2, 195?. Resolution No. 7, pertaining to the Commissions recommendations to the City Council on the minimum lot sizes was read. It was directed that the specific- ations of 40 foot frontage on all cul-de-sacs be added. Mri Abrott made a motion that the resolution as amended be adopted and forwarded to the Council. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hanifen and passed unanimously. A Public Hearing on the Pleasanton Cabinet Shoprs request for variance was set for 8:30 P.M. on Map 2, 1957. A discussion on the rezoning of Tract 1148, Walaut Drive, and adjacent unres- tricted areas followed. Councilman Gerton pointed out that the Council would prefer that immediate action be taken on the Walnut Drive area, about which they had received several protests, and leave the other areas for future con- sideration. A Public Hearing to rezone Tract 1148 from non restricted area to single family dwellings residential area was set for 9:00 P.M. on May 2, 1957. Mr. Morris Elsnab, of 203 St. John Street, presented his variance request to build a tool shed on his property. A Public Hearing was set for 9:30 P.M. on May 2, 1957. CORRESPONDENCE: A letter from 4fr. A.W. Oxsen relative to requests he had received to place bill- boards on First Street was read. Commissioner Abrott moved that the City Plann- ing Commission recommend to the City Council that an ordinance be passed restrict- ing erection of billboards in the city limits. The motion was seconded by Com- missioner Wharton and passed unanimously.
