~. - ,~ <br />PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CZTY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />MINUTES <br />The adjourned meeting of the City Planning Commission was called to order at <br />the City Hall on April 11, 195? at 8;10 P.M., Chairman Hewitson presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present: - Commissioners Hewitson, Abrott, Hanifen, Trowbridge, <br />Wharton and Hartle <br />Absent: -Commissioner Wetherby <br />The minutes of March 28th were approved as forwarded on motion by Commissioner <br />Abrott, seconded by Commissioner Hanifen. <br />Mr. Ceorge Bolton„ of 360 Abbie Street, presented his request for a variance <br />hearing to build a garage adjacent to his home. After some discussion as to <br />the necessity of afire wall it was decided that the Commissioners would visit <br />Mr. Bolton~s home on Sunday, April 14th for further study. A Public Hearing <br />on the variance was set for 8:00 P.M. on May 2, 195?. <br />Resolution No. 7, pertaining to the Commissions recommendations to the City <br />Council on the minimum lot sizes was read. It was directed that the specific- <br />ations of 40 foot frontage on all cul-de-sacs be added. Mri Abrott made a <br />motion that the resolution as amended be adopted and forwarded to the Council. <br />The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hanifen and passed unanimously. <br />A Public Hearing on the Pleasanton Cabinet Shoprs request for variance was set <br />for 8:30 P.M. on Map 2, 1957. <br />A discussion on the rezoning of Tract 1148, Walaut Drive, and adjacent unres- <br />tricted areas followed. Councilman Gerton pointed out that the Council would <br />prefer that immediate action be taken on the Walnut Drive area, about which <br />they had received several protests, and leave the other areas for future con- <br />sideration. A Public Hearing to rezone Tract 1148 from non restricted area to <br />single family dwellings residential area was set for 9:00 P.M. on May 2, 1957. <br />Mr. Morris Elsnab, of 203 St. John Street, presented his variance request to <br />build a tool shed on his property. A Public Hearing was set for 9:30 P.M. on <br />May 2, 1957. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />A letter from 4fr. A.W. Oxsen relative to requests he had received to place bill- <br />boards on First Street was read. Commissioner Abrott moved that the City Plann- <br />ing Commission recommend to the City Council that an ordinance be passed restrict- <br />ing erection of billboards in the city limits. The motion was seconded by Com- <br />missioner Wharton and passed unanimously. <br />
