IN THE PLANNING COMMISSION ~' THE CITY OF PIE ASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMIDA - STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />Minutes <br />March 19, 1959 <br />The meeting of the Pleasanton Planning Commission was called to order at the <br />City Hall on March 19, 1959, at 88~clock, Chairman Wetherby presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present-Commissioners AllisCn, Wharton, Lozano, Mitchell and Hanifen. <br />Absent: Commissioner De Vor <br />On motion oP Commissioner Hanifen, seconded by Commissioner Lozano the minutes <br />of the meeting of March 5, 1959, were approved as submitted. <br />A letter from a group of Pleasanton Heights citizens opposing the location of <br />the Pleasanton Heights Swim Club Inc. was read. The Tentative Rules and Reg- <br />ulations and the Prospectus of the Swim Club Inc. was submitted for the Com- <br />missioners consideration. Mr. Aaron Latkin presented the proposals of the Swim <br />Club, describing the history and outlining their plans providing for a 36 x 75 <br />pool, membership of 120 families, drawn mainly from Pleasanton Heights and <br />adequate off-street parking. He submitted letters from M.G.C. Co., Mr. Charles <br />Hellen, Lou Frank Real Estate and McDonald Realty and a signed petition of Plea- <br />santon Heights residents containing 63 signatures commending the project. <br />Mr. John Connell, Director of Forest Hills Swim Club of Castro Valley spoke on <br />behalf of the pool. Mrs. Knowles of Bonita Avenue requested that a cover be <br />placed over the pool when it is not in use 4o prevent children falling intp it. <br />Following further discussion and on motion of Commissioner :Wharton, seconded by <br />Commissioner Mitchell, approved by all present, a public hearing was set for <br />April 2nd. The Commissioners will meet on March 28th to inspect similiar com- <br />munity pools in the Castro Valley area. <br />City Administrator presented a progress report on the Industrial Park and the <br />City Councils request for a resolution from the Planning Commission amending the <br />General Plan to add approximately 500 acres of the Bernal Avenue Industrial Site. <br />On motion of Commissioner Mitchell, seconded by Commissioner Hanifen and approv- <br />ed by all present Resolution No. 55 was so ordered. <br />A study session to discuss the proposed Sub-Division Ordinance was set for April <br />9, 1959. <br />As there was no further business to come before the commission the meeting was <br />adjourned at 9:40 F.M. to April 2, 1959 at 8 P.M. <br />Secretary <br />,.. <br />
