IN THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
Minutes
January 7, 1960
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Pleasanton Planning Commission was called to order
at the City Hall on January 7, 19~ at 8:05 P.M. Chairman Hanifen presiding.
ROLL CALL: Present - Commissioners Allison, Landon, Lozano & Chairman Hanifen
Absent -Commissioner Mitchell
On motion of Commissioner Lyndon, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, and approved by all pre-
sent, the minutes of December 17, 1959 were approved as forwarded by the Secretary.
Mr. Trimingham came before the Commission with his proposed plans for a trailer park at the
Alameda County Fairgrounds. The problem they have with their present trailer park is that
during the fair, there isn't enough space to accomodate everyone on the grounds and the
surrounding area is unable to accomodate them either. The present trailer park is located
in the center, and they would like to relocate it to the Roae Avenue side or to a site
located at the end of the barns. Either location would have to conform to State Codes.
The Commission had no objections to either of these sites and suggested that the trailer
court could possibly be designed for both permanent and temporary trailers. Permanent
trailers would have to conform with standards and temporary trailers would have minimum
standards. Additional plans will be made and brought before the Commission at a later date.
The ,joint study session, relative to the proposed area wide study of sewer, water and flood
control, was then discussed. At this meeting, it was discussed whether or not they should
form a committee and who should be invited to attend.
Mr. Butler then came before the Commission for a CONDITIONAL ZONING PERMIT to operate a
warehouse at First and Abbie Streets, to be used as storage. Building has been rewired and
meets present requirements. The Commissioners present saw no reason in not granting this
permit, and on motion of Commissioner Landon, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, sad approved
by all Commissioners present, RESOLUTION N0. 84, approving the CONDITIONAL ZONING PERMIT
under the following conditions, was passed:
RESOLUTION N0. 84
Granting Conditional Zoning Permit on Application of Lawrence Butler, P. 0. Box 151,
Pleasanton, California, filed January 7, 1960, for commercial use.
The above described application, having been duly considered, pursuant to Ordinance
No. 293, of the City of Pleasanton, and good cause appearing;
NOW `~~~RE, the Planning Commission does hereby resolve as follows:
1) That no public hearing is deemed necessary is the public interest in this matter.
2) That the Planning Commission finds that conditions of Section 2.22 of Ordinance
No. 293 pertaining to commercial uses have been met.
3) That a CONDITIONAL ZONING PERMIT is hereby granted for a period of six (6)
months, effective this date, subject to the following conditions:
a) Building shall comply with present building code of the City of Pleasanton
4) That the Secretary is hereby instructed to forward copies of this Resolution to
the applicant, city officers and any other interested parties.
Dr. Ray Haskell advised the Commission of the plan to expand the present high school, located
on Santa Rita Road. Dr. Haskell stated the effect this would have on the future development
of Pleasanton and that they plan to pick-up the amount of land necessary to meet State
standards fora school of 1,500 (about 23 acres). The whole area where the high school
