IN THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />Minutes <br />December 1, 1960 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />the City Hall on December 1, 1960 at 8:00 P.M. with Chairman Ralph Mitchell presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: Present - Commissioners Allison, Hanifen, Landon, Lozano. <br />Absent -None <br />On motion of Coanaissioner Landon, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, and approved by <br />all Commissioners present, the Miautea of November 17, 1960 were approved as forwarded. <br />Public Rearing for J. Vallsrino was opened on his application for rezoning certain <br />property on Vineyard Avenue from R-1 to R-G, to construct two Yourplexes. Mr. Vallarino <br />presented his plans and a map of the area. Mr. Fales gave the staff report, recommending <br />against the rezoning at this time, but recommending that the Commission initiate a rezoning <br />of a larger area than ,just Mr. Vallarinos. Mr. Vallarino consented to continuance of the <br />Public Hearing until January 5, 1961. On motion of Commissioner Hanifen, seconded by Com- <br />missioner Tendon and approved by all Commissioners present, Public Nearing wsa set, for the <br />purpose of amending the rezoning from R1 to R-G , notifying all people within 300 of the <br />area to be rezoned, for January 5, 1961. <br />Mr. Fales read his resolution re~rding Zoning Ordinance enforcement. On motion of <br />Commissioner Tendon, seconded by Commissioner Hanifen and approved by all Commissioners <br />present, RESOLUTION N0. 124 was adopted. <br />RffiOLUTION N0. 124 <br />Whereas, the Zotting Ordinance of the City oY Pleasanton was adopted on April 25, 1960, <br />and has now been in effect for seven tenths, and; <br />Whereas, the City of Pleasanton Planning Commission is aware of the fact that a certain <br />period of time 1s necessary in order to allow residents and property owners to become Yam- <br />iliar with the contents and provisions of said Zoning Ordinance, and; <br />Whereas, the City oY Pleasanton Planning Commission does now believe that sufficient <br />time has elapsed in order for residents and property owners to have become familiar with the <br />contents and provisions of said Zoning Ordinance, and; <br />Whereas, the contemplated growth of the City of Pleasanton will dictate an increasing <br />number of iadividual cases to be heard by the Planning Commission involving provisions of <br />said Zoning Ordinance; <br />Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the City oY Pleasanton Planning Commission does <br />adopt as its policy now and in the future, that said Zoning Ordinance of the City of Pleasanton <br />will be strictly enforced and adhered to in order that the principles of sound and logical <br />physical development of the City, as embodied on the General Plan and said Zoning Ordinance <br />may be realized; <br />Be It Further Resolved that said Planning Commission does now make this specific policy <br />statement in order that all persons now or in the future affected by said Zoning Ordinance, <br />~~ 11 be fully aware of said policy, and shall be expected to attempt full compliance with <br />provisions of said Zoning Ordinance in each instance where said ordinance is applicable., <br />Mr. Orin Crowe came before the Planning Commission with his request that the Commission <br />reconsider their previous letter of denial, sent to the County planning Commission, Por re- <br />zoning of 10 acres of land to one acre lots for construction of homes. Mr. Fales explained <br />the request of Mr. Crowe. Mr. Crowe spoke in behalf of his application. <br />
