IN THE PLI~NNING OOMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />Minutes <br />February 16, 1961 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order <br />at the City Hall on February 16, 1961, at 8:00 p. m. with Chairman Ralph Mitchell <br />presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: Present - Commissioners Allison, Landon and Lozano; Ex-officio <br />Commissioners Dana, Hotw, King and Mr. Kamp. <br />Absent -Commissioner Hanifen. <br />On motion of Commissioner Landon, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, and ap- <br />proved by all Commissioners present, the Minutes of February 2, 1961, were ap- <br />proved as corrected. <br />The Hearing on the Expansion of the General Plan xas continued until <br />March 2, 1961. <br />Continuation of the Hearing regarding the relocation of the Livermore Air- <br />port was held, Mr. Neil Moore, President of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce <br />summarized the feeling of the Chamber opposing the relocation of the Airport, <br />Mr. Dan Lee, Livermore Public Works Director, was present and commented on <br />Mr. Moores statements. Chairman Mitchell directed several questions to Mr. Lee, <br />and Commissioner Landon spoke briefly on the Fisher Report and the Robert Williams <br />Report. Ex-officio Commissioner Kamp stated his viexs against the Airport as did <br />the Ex-officio Commissioners Dana and King. <br />Mr. Crowe, a resident near the proposed Airport, spoke in opposition of the <br />Airport. On motion of Chairman Mitchell, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, and <br />approved by all Commissioners present, Resolution #132 was adopted. <br />RESOLUTION #132 <br />Resolved: <br />1. The Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton does hereby recommend <br />that the City Council view unfavorably the proposal of the City of Liver- <br />more to locate the Airport in Pleasanton Toxnship, Southerly of Highway <br />50 and Easterly of Santa Rita Road in that the proposed location does <br />not seem to be the best airport site in the Valley considering all of the <br />factors. <br />
