Public Bearing of John l~L.nn for a Variance to construct a shade arbor on <br />his property line t-ras then opened. Secreatry Fales gave the favorable recommendation <br />of the Straff. On motion of Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner iIanifen <br />and approved by all Commissioners, P.ESOLUTIOPd 1~0. 151+ was adopted. <br />RESOL~rION lzo. 154 <br />.dhereas, the application of John PMann, for a Variance from Sideyard setback shade <br />requirements of Section 6.5, Ordinance ido. 309, to allow construction of a-~s113tagarbor <br />on property located at 41+0 Ama,dor Court, in an R-1 (Single Family Residential) <br />District, having come before this Commission June 1, 1961, under Ordinance, Pio. 309, <br />Zoning Ordinance, as amended, the Planning Commission does hereby resolve as follows: <br />1. The Planning Commission does find as follows: <br />a. IJotice has been given as reL},uired by law. <br />b. The Circumstances required by Section 19.1003 of said <br />Ordinance do exist. <br />2. The Variance is hereby granted. <br />3. A copy of this Resolution shall be sent to interested parties. <br />Secretary Fales read a letter from ideil 2~loore regarding the installation <br />of curb, gutter and sidewalk at the Jacksonr Perkins Co. The letter asked for <br />an extension of installation until September of 1962. On motion of Commissioner <br />Landon, seconded by Commissioner Allison and approved by all Commissioners pre- <br />sent, the construction date was expended until September 1962. <br />lliscussion of Community Goals was then continued. The follo~,aing were added <br />to the previous Goals: <br />1. The Future expansion of the Fairgrounds area primarily for par's;ing <br />purposes, should be to the west and north of Eernal A enue. <br />2 The traffic circu]x.tion plan should provide two entrances and exits <br />From the fairgrounds onto Berna~7_ AVenue and should provide a connection between <br />~3ernal A~,enue and Flopyard Pioad in the area west of the present Fair facilities. <br />3. Development of the fairgrounds as a ,year-around recreation facility <br />should be encouraged. <br />Development of major commercial activities not directly associated <br />frith the holding of the County Fair should be discouraged. <br />iP. EFfort should be put forth by the City to lease certain open, turfed <br />Fields from the County Fairgrounds for use as nnmicipal recreation areas. <br />There being no further business to come before the Commission same <br />t'ras adjourned at 9:5J p.rn. on motion of Cormission_er Lozano, seconded by Commiissioner <br />Allison and approved by all Commissioners present, to meet again on June 15, 1961 <br />at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. /~ <br />/ /~ <br />f ~ / <br />C!~ , <br />,Secretary <br />
